YOUTH GROUP
What's dynamic, democratic, deep, playful and comes with tasty snacks? If you are a high-school aged youth who seeks a community where fun and kindness are appreciated, then come; discover USNF Youth Group.
Youth group (YG) meets weekly on Sundays and gathers for special events and outings throughout the year. We invite newcomers who are in 9th - 12th grade to join us for the first six weeks of the year. You can experience YG first hand, and then decide if it is right for you, committing to continue.
Youth who are committed to each other and spending the year together make up YG. We endeavor to share with one another and build relationships across ages. Together we explore meaningful questions, learning and growing as people, as Unitarian Universalists. We engage in social action on issues that are important to us. We plan and participate in unique and special worship. And we always have fun!
Youth Group is a program of the Religious Education Program of USNF. It is guided by a Youth Adult Committee (YAC) that represents the entire group in decision-making and leads by example. The YAC is a dynamic team of seven youth, who were elected by their peers, along with two adult advisors and the youth director. Six dedicated volunteer advisors, adult members of the congregation, support YG through their presence at meetings and events.
There are other options for high school youth to become involved in our congregation as well.
